The mission of the Center for Access and Accommodative Services (CAAS) is to provide campus accessibility and accommodations that foster the development of students' abilities, 准备他们的工作，以充分发挥他们的潜力，以实现他们的学术和职业目标.

Students requesting accommodations need to self-identify with CAAS and provide appropriate documentation of their disability. The process of activating accommodations may take up to two weeks after submitting the required documentation. Accommodations are not retroactive so it is important to apply and activate your accommodations prior to the semester starting.

Placement Exam
Placement exams are not timed; therefore, 我们鼓励学生不慌不忙，尽量取得最高分.

Students seeking the accommodation of using a calculator for the placement exam must apply for the accommodation at CAAS located in Room A-105 by filling out a Confidential Data form and submitting documentation of their disability and/or medical condition. CAAS工作人员可能无法在分班考试当天审查和批准申请.

Confidentiality
Documentation and records submitted to the CAAS office to determine a student’s eligibility for accommodations are kept confidential and within the CAAS office. 没有学生的书面许可，记录不会被披露.

High School v College

The CAAS Confidential Data Form will be completed at the intake appointment. 请携带残疾证明文件到此预约. Acceptable documentation comes in the form of:

Documentation that the individual has had an individualized education program (IEP) in accordance with Section 614(d) of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Documentation that the individual has received services or accommodations provided to the individual under a Section 504 plan and provided to the individual pursuant to Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973

NOTE: Documentation of a medical condition and/or disability must be prepared by a licensed health care professional (psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, social worker, medical doctor, etc.) who is not a family member.

Step 2: Activating accommodations

Sign the accommodation agreement
Fill out the Request for Services form for the current semester

Step 3: Using accommodations

Professors for the courses the student listed on their Request for Services form will receive an email notifying them of the student’s approved accommodations. The student will need to inform their professors that they wish to use their approved accommodations.
